i am going to ramble.. about nothing! let’s see where this free flow of writing takes me… since i was a little girl, i wanted to become a writer. i think the conviction came to me in the fifth grade when my teacher said i was a good writer. of course when you hear that you’re talented at something you want to keep doing it & so i did… but not anymore.. i don’t read enough nor do i practice writing as much as an “aspiring writer” should be doing. i get upset when i realize i should be doing so much more with the time that i have here (on earth). really… i mean it’s nice to hang out with friends doing nothing or sit comfortably at your house watching your favorite tv show… but we’ve been blessed with so many God given talents and we should really be trying to improve those talents during our free time to really become great. like mike jordan for example… although he wasn’t amazing at basketball during his younger years, he had talent… & he was determined to perfect his talent by practicing 24/7 and now he’s considered the best basketball player of his era, if not—of all time. all of his coaches have said that he was the most hardworking player on their team, hands down. this goes for teams too. when sports teams win championships….you know that they done been practicing HARD. great people just don’t become great… it takes many failures. it takes a lot of self control. a lot of sacrifices. a lot of blood, sweat, tears (i suppose depending on what you’re trying to achieve).

my point. time is precious & it should not be wasted. it should really be used towards improving a talent that you have & really becoming skilled at it & using it to inspire/help others, however big/small your audience may be… cause you never know; maybe you’ll make it global. classic example- biggie. biggie used to just rap on the street corners of brooklyn but people were moved by his lyrics. his flow. his ability to eloquently and thuggishly (lol) translate life’s struggles into pure music. & he kept rising up cause people enjoyed it & they were able to relate. it’s all about unifying the peeps. we are unified through music. through sports. through books. through movies & etc. why? because in life, there are a multitude of heartaches we must go through. there are tragedies. betrayals. disappointments. but we are able to carry on because we know through musical lyrics, through actors’ and actresses’ heartfelt performances in films, through the losses that sports teams must go through, through all that ish - that without struggles there is no progression. but more importantly, we realize that we’re not alone in our hardships.

life’s a tough battle & everyone’s fighting a hard fight… but with a clear focus, an undying vision, and lots of HARD WORK our lives can & will be great.
